Violette is the name of Sybille's daughter, founder of Petite Mendigote.
A name that feels just right, symbolizing a deep bond between a mother and her daughter, and a source of everyday inspiration.
With Violette, Sybille envisioned a bag designed to last, far from fleeting trends, like a precious item made to accompany a lifetime... and be passed down.
Each bag is entirely hand-woven in Petite Mendigote's partner workshop for over twenty years.
Two artisans, nearly 200 leather strands, and 10 to 12 hours of weaving are needed to give shape to each piece. Precise and demanding work, embracing slowness as a value.
A VEGETABLE-TANNED LEATHER...
…crafted with natural tannins derived from bark, leaves, or roots. A traditional process lasting 30 to 60 days, which reveals an authentic, durable grain, and a unique patina that improves with age.
